Hyacinth Place

This adaptive re-use project consisted of a complete historical restoration, interior conversion into apartment homes, construction of a new building and track loop around the rugby field. We worked as a team starting in late 2011, assisting in scope and specification design, town planning meetings and the overall construction.

In 1881, Westbrook Manufacturing Company brought 42 expert weavers and their families over from Scotland to work in the local mills. The company built homes on Scotch Hill surrounding a large rugby field, and St. Anthony’s Parish & School was constructed adjacent to it for the Catholic immigrants. The Church sold the parish center & school to Avesta Housing in 2012, and Historical Renovations were completed in the fall of 2013 providing new housing opportunities to the people of Westbrook with rich history.
