Campus Commons
Lisbon Falls High School was designed by William R. Miller, a renowned turn of the century architect that specialized in richly ornamented Romanesque and French-Revival buildings. The school’s doors originally opened in 1905 and was used as a high school until the spring of 1951. Greater Brunswick Housing Associates purchased the building, renamed it Campus Commons, and hired our firm to renovate it into 13 elderly apartment homes in 2011. The adaptive re-use was made possible through the assistance of HUD and historical tax credits.
The exterior masonry was repointed and repaired as needed and the turret was restored to meet historic requirements. Windows were reproduced and restored to meet NPS requirements, showing the historical charm of the building. This building offers the elder community of Lisbon a gorgeous, historical home for many of the alumni students.
